Mid november, Google announced when and how Core Web Vitals will be part of organic ranking. In May, where pages will have a visual indicator of meeting Core Web Vitals. The first tests of Google were already seen.

As I expected in my previous post about this update, the new Core Web Vitals indicator looks like an AMP icon for sure. Instead of a grey icon with a white lightning bolt, it seems to be a grey icon with a white star. For the time being at least, as Google is still testing.

Unfortunately, I am not yet seeing this change myself. Barry Schwartz did and covered it in his article on seroundtable.com. Over there, I saw a screenshot of the backlinko-website of Brian Dean.
This kind of surprised me, as I tested his site before and it was doing an awfull job.

But it isn't just the Core Web Vitals visual indicator. An employer of Condé Nast, a global media company, saw that Google is already testing with Google's top stories carousel. Before, you needed to have your articles published in AMP as well. Google already announced that having your website pass the Core Web Vitals enables your articles to show up in Google's news top stories carousel as well.
This means, Google is already testing with dropping AMP as a top stories requirement, according to seroundtable.com.
