AMP

AMP stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages. This basically is an HTML framework enabling you to provide better page experience via improved pagespeed and performance. This would mean you had to install a plugin for your CMS or create AMP pages yourself. AMP pages would then be served by default when clicking on Google results, or for example when clicking on AMP pages within social media apps, such as Twitter or LinkedIn.

AMP was introduced in October 2015, way before Core Web Vitals. AMP could be seen as a signal as to where Google is heading, which eventually led to Core Web Vitals: improved user experience for users using Google Search.
